Tall Order Craftsmen LLC ("we," "us," "Company") operates Rafter, an AI-powered document generation tool for contractors. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By using Rafter, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, company name, and email address. This information is required to provide the Service.
1.2 Payment Information
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store your credit card number, bank account details, or other sensitive payment credentials. We receive a payment confirmation token and basic billing information (last four digits, card type, billing country) from Stripe. Stripe's privacy practices are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
1.3 Document Inputs
When you use Rafter to generate a document, the text and voice inputs you provide ("Input Content") are transmitted to Anthropic's AI infrastructure to produce the generated output. We do not permanently store the content of your document inputs or outputs on our servers beyond what is needed to complete the request and display your result. Anthropic's handling of data is governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
1.4 Usage Data
We may collect standard technical data associated with your use of the Service, such as browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used to maintain and improve the Service and is not linked to your document content.
1.5 Communications
If you contact us at legal@rafter.build or through other channels, we retain a record of that correspondence to respond to your inquiry and improve our support.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, operate, and maintain the Service; process subscription payments; communicate with you about your account or the Service; respond to support requests; improve and develop the Service; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your document inputs to train AI models. We do not use your information for advertising purposes.
4. How We Share Your Information
4.1 Service Providers
We share information with third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, including Stripe (payment processing) and Anthropic (AI generation). These providers are authorized to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of any person.
4.3 Business Transfers
If Tall Order Craftsmen LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified via email if such a transfer results in a material change to this Privacy Policy.
4.4 No Sale of Data
We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you cancel your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes.
As noted above, document input and output content is not stored permanently on our servers.
6. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at legal@rafter.build. We will respond to verifiable requests within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or UK GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used. We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA.
8. Cookies and Tracking
The Service may use essential cookies or local storage to maintain your session and preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. If we introduce additional tracking technologies, this policy will be updated and you will be notified.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice within the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict of law principles.
